Do you ever take any notice of how you breathe?

It has been a while since I have sent an email relating to our breath but after doing a short online course on pelvic floor health last week I thought it is a good opportunity to revisit.

I was delighted to hear the course leader talk about the importance of trying to achieve a 360 degree breath, as that has been a consistent message across all the courses I have done over the years, hence it is the reason I called my workshop Breathe 360!

Like most things that come with health related stuff, there are many different breathing exercises you can do and often you have no idea what is good for you or not.

I don’t think any of them are right or wrong, however they just serve a different purpose and might be better or worse for different people!

Something you can do for yourself is to start paying attention to how you breathe (or not breathe!) in different situations.

For example, do you breathe through your nose or mouth?

Is it shallow or deep?

Does is it feel difficult to get a full breath?

Do you find yourself sighing or yawning often?

Do you snore?

You may know that I have put together a workshop on this topic so there is plenty of information I can share with you, however the purpose of this message is for you to bring some awareness of how you are breathing throughout your day and night!

If you would like to explore further and start the process of understanding if your breathing pattern may impact you more then you realise, check out the attached a breathing questionnaire.

It is not a diagnostic tool. Its purpose is purely to bring some awareness. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
